Dureza: 2 ½ - 3.0. Densidade 19.3 g/cm3 , quando puro. A presença de outro metais diminui a densidade relativa, que pode abaixar até 15. O limite de eslaticidade é de 4kg/mm2; seu ponto de fusão está ao redor de 1.063º C e o de ebulição a 2.970º C (Berbet,1988 in DNPM).

Muito maleável e dúctil. Opaco. Vários matrizes de amrelo dependem da pureza, tornando-se cada vez mais pálido com o aumento da percentagem de prata presente (Dana,1974).
